February 11th 2016
Dear All,
As you are aware we take the safety and welfare of your child at the school extremely seriously. It is for this reason that I ask that it is paramount that you use the TAs on the front door of the school in the morning as your first line of communication and that if you wish to speak to a teacher you need to ‘check in’ with them first or make an appointment to see a member of staff. We cannot have adults roaming the school that we cannot account for and could compromise the safety of the children. None of us, I’m sure, want that!
If there is any change to home time arrangements please inform the TA on the door they will pass this on to the class teacher or if you forget at ‘drop off’ please phone and leave a message with Mrs Pike. If we all use these procedures the children will continue to be safe and there will be clear lines of communication.
In school there are children with allergies and again in order to maintain their safety and welfare we ask that the school is a ‘nut free zone’. In the interests of other children with nut allergies, please do not include nuts in your child’s packed lunch. This is the only way we can guarantee their safety. A pupil with such an allergy will suffer an acute, sometimes life-threatening allergic reaction.
On a lighter note, the weather is turning colder, perhaps we will need to dust off our sledges after all. Whatever you are doing next week, enjoy!
Kind regards
Martin Marshall

And Finally……
We are very grateful for all the parental help we get at the school. We have many of you that help out with reading throughout the week. If any of you would like to help out with times tables practice we are looking for volunteers to help children to have quick recall of their times tables. If you are interested please contact your child’s class teacher, thank you.
Competition Reminder!
On March 14th it is Commonwealth Day and as a school we will be joining in the celebrations. As part of the celebrations we will be raising the commonwealth flag on our brand new Flag Pole. We thought it would be great to have a child from our school to be the ‘flag raiser’. To be the flag raiser you have to design and create a Commonwealth Day Doodle. The creator of the best design will be the lucky person to help raise the flag on the day. Entries back to the office by Friday 26th February please.
