Today we celebrated Commonwealth Day.
Stower Provost School is the site of the communal Flag Pole generously donated by the Stour Provost Parish Council.
Commonwealth Day provides the opportunity to promote understanding on global issues, international co-operation and the work of Commonwealth organisations, which aim to improve the lives of citizens across the world.
We marked the occasion by flying the Commonwealth flag. This year over 1,000 individual flag-flying ceremonies are predicted to take place on Commonwealth Day. We think we were the only school in the South West to be taking part today.
It was a great privilege to have a true ambassador of Commonwealth values with us today to help us mark this occasion. Olympic Gold Medalist Peter Wilson.
After the ceremony the children had a chance to meet Peter and ask him some questions. Best of all to touch and try on the gold medal! See the gallery for more photos.
