Dear All,

It’s great to see the swimming pool up and running and the children able to swim this week. The temperature in the pool is definitely warmer than our cool May weather!

Many of you have expressed, yet again, your concerns over parking at the start and end of the day. Cars have been hit, cars are being parked on the Yellow Zig-Zag lines outside of school, the bus is unable to pass, the farm traffic also struggles to get through and the telegraph pole has been damaged resulting in our neighbours having to go without internet and phone connection for several days.

I can nag as much as I like, but if it falls on deaf ears I see no point. We are all equally responsible to do something about this. If we park on the zig zags or park in an irresponsible way then we are upsetting friends and families of the school. Please park and drive responsibly and think carefully about where you are parking. I can’t put it any clearer or fairer than that!

It would be great if no one parked outside the car park wall, this small thing would make such a difference.

I have got DCC Highways coming to see if we can extend the zig zag, but this will only be effective if we don’t park on the zig zag. I’m also hoping that they can explore some other ways of relieving the stress on the road at this pinch point.

I feel the solution to this is by us all working together to park and drive responsibly. As always your cooperation in this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Kind regards

Martin Marshall
