Dear Parents
The children have made a great start to the term and have been impressing us all with their eagerness to learn and their very positive attitudes – well done to all of them.
Rotary Shoebox Appeal – Christmas 2018 – A message from the Rotary Club:
We are very grateful to all the schools, organizations and companies who have helped us in the past to fill countless shoeboxes with gifts for some of the very poorest children in the world who have very little pleasure in their lives. This year we are sending to Albania, Montenegro, Moldova and Romania and we are asking for your help once again.
The ages of the children range from 1 -15 years of age and the only items we cannot send are: Battery powered items, war related items, guns, knives, large items of clothing or shoes, books of a religious, racial or political nature, food , liquids and sweets of any kind, medicines, large toys and sharp items. (Please note: Toothbrushes and toothpaste now accepted).
Please wrap the box and lid separately with Christmas paper, fill with small toys, including e.g.: books, games, colouring and drawing sets, hats, scarves, beads, socks, gloves, soaps etc.
Then secure the box with a rubber band and label the box with the age and sex of the prospective recipient. We can supply leaflets explaining the scheme which has a tear off label. If you are able, please sellotape a £1 coin to the box to help with transportation costs. Please do not seal the box.
In order to check the boxes and take them to a central point I would need to collect them from you on Monday 15th October. There will also be a central collecting point at Crockers in Gillingham High Street.
Please do help Rotary this year to bring some joy into the lives of children who have very little. We would be grateful for any single items to be boxed by ourselves or if you prefer a donation towards transport costs. Any support will be very much appreciated.
With many thanks for your generosity.
Yours sincerely
Rtn. Roland Martin (Shoebox Appeal Coordinator)

There is a charge for lessons and invoices will be sent out half-termly. Cost of lessons varies for more information please contact Mrs Pike in the office. Reminder that half a term’s notice is required to cease lessons.
