Years two and three warmed up their limbs and ears by learning rhythms on sticks and then using those rhythms to find their group captains.
Listening skills were at the fore when the children found their own spaces and listened to the world around them to produce a sound map. When the groups reunited, the children selected a sound and thought up a simile for that sound. The two groups then came together and performed, what had now become, a poem for each other.
