Years two and three warmed up on this welcome sunny afternoon playing arches, taking it in turns to seek safety from a chaser under a friendly arch.
The children were then challenged to find as many different minibeasts as possible. The list was much longer than anyone expected with centipedes, spiders and ants among the expected worms and woodlice.
Next, the children walked around the school grounds and identified all the different habitats on site. There was a discussion about what could be improved and how and the children wrote down their ideas. It will be interesting to see how many more beasts – mini- or otherwise will be spotted when some of the changes have been implemented!
