March 10th 2016
Dear All,
The weeks seem to be flying by at the moment and with the short half term we are having to cram so much in to a week. Last Thursday all the children and staff looked fantastic for World Book Day dressed as favourite book characters, there are some great photos on the website. The children took part in a poetry performance competition, which was judged by Mr and Mrs Nalty. Much fun was had by all and a big thank you to Miss Gale for her organisation of the day.
You may have noticed the addition of a flag pole in the school grounds. This was kindly donated to the school by the Parish Council to commemorate Commonwealth Day on 14th March. We will be marking the day by raising the Commonwealth flag and having an appearance from a local Olympic Star, Peter Wilson, Gold Medallist in the London Olympics! He will be talking to the children and having his photograph taken with them.
Next week we also have a ‘Fossil Roadshow’ coming to school. The Jurassic coast experience is coming to us! Probably just as well with the weather like it is. There is the Year 5/6 Football festival at Mere on Wednesday, best of luck to all taking part. Then the Sports Relief Mile run on Friday. I feel exhausted just thinking about all of that and those are just the highlights! Have a great weekend.
Kind regards
Martin Marshall
